    All the general public and all the concerned (parties / litigants and learned advocates), please take note:-

    • The Government of Uttarakhand, through its Government Order No. E-85343/(1)/xxxviA3/2024 dated July 5, 2024.
    • The Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital, issued relevant notifications. :-
      • Notification No. 354/UHC/Admin.A-2/2024 dated September 21, 2024
      • Notification No. 384/UHC/Admin.A-2/2024 dated September 24, 2024
    • The relevant orders passed by the District Judge, Chamoli. :-
      • Administrative Order No-30/2024 dated 23 September 2024
      • Administrative Order No-31/2024 dated 24 September 2024
    • The “Family Court, Chamoli” has been established in the District Chamoli.
    • The District Judge, Chamoli, in addition to their original assignments, shall also act as the presiding officer of the Family Court, Chamoli. While trying family matters, they will be the Judge of the Family Court.
    • The Family Court, Chamoli, has jurisdiction over:
      • The matters specified in the aforementioned notifications.
      • All the family matters (whether civil or criminal in nature) as per Sections 7 and 8 of the Family Court Act, 1984.
    • All new family matters will be instituted or must be filed in the Family Court, Chamoli in the court of District Judge, Chamoli instead of the Courts of Civil Judge (Sr. Div.)/Chief Judicial Magistrate/Civil Judge (Jr. Div.)/Judicial Magistrates. And all such cases will be tried by the District Judge, Chamoli, as the Presiding Officer of the Family Court.
    • All the existing family matters pending in the Courts of Civil Judge (Sr. Div.)/Chief Judicial Magistrate/Civil Judge (Jr. Div.)/Judicial Magistrates (at places Gopeshwar-Chamoli, Karnaprayag, Joshimath, Tharali, Gairsain and Pokhri) have been transferred to the Family Court, Chamoli in the Court of District Judge, Chamoli and all such cases will be tried by the District Judge, Chamoli, as the Judge of the Family Court, at the same stage of proceedings.
