    Cleanliness Drive 2023

    A “Cleanliness Drive” in the State of Uttarakhand under the guidance of The Hon’ble Chief Justice, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital and in all the Districts of Uttarakhand under the leadership of Hon’ble District Judges on June 18, 2023 (Sunday) from 08:00 AM for four hours was organized. All the Judicial Officers, Member of Bars, Officers and Staff of District and Taluka Courts, Officers and Staff of Other Government Departments, Students, NCC/NSS Cadets, Prayavaran Mitra, Safayi Nayak, Social Workers, NGOs PLVs actively participated in the event. Drawings / Paintings / Slogans competitions were organized by the District Legal Services Authority Chamoli and the same Drawings / Paintings / Slogans prepared by the students were displayed at the premises of Courts. The drive started with Gathering in Court premises, Garlanding on the bust of Gandhiji. Onwards Prizes and Trophies distribution program took place. Prayavaran Mitra, Safayi Nayak, Students / Winners of competitions and NGO’s were felicitated.

    On-wards “Swachchhta Pledge” was taken and “National Anthem” was sung.

    Opening of Shram Daan started with flagging off the awareness rally forming two teams moved towards Upper Naigwad via Petrol Pump Tiraha, Zero Band, Hospital Road, Chamoli Taxi Stand Chowk and Police Line from where a team moved towards Gopeshwar Mandal Bypass Road via New Bus Station. Posters / banners / slogans on cleanliness are displayed, slogans were raised and phamplets were distributed among general public to reiterate commitment and involvement to cleanliness in order to create awareness among people about the importance of keeping their surroundings clean and to take initiatives to manage waste in right way. While cleaning and collecting garbage midway. Nukkad Natak also performed by different groups at Petrol Pump Tiraha and Chamoli Taxi Stand Chowk. Plantation drive also took place on two identified sites. The program ended with cultural program, refreshment and tea at Zila Panchayat Bhawan Gopeshwar with the message and permission of the Hon’ble District Judge. The Cleanliness Drive were also performed at Civil Court Karanprayag, Civil Court Gairsain, Civil Court Tharali, Civil Court Joshimath and Civil Court Pokhri. During rally while cleaning and collecting garbage midway tons of Plastic, Polythene, Glass and other garbage were picked and dumped in dump zones.

    1. Single use plastic is not to be used at any stage.

    2. Spread awareness about “Swachhata App” of MOHUA, GoI.

      (The Swachhata App and Portal is to be used by citizen to help Municipal Corporations spot the unclean areas in the city and take necessary steps).

      (This email has been established on the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand to which the public could make Complaints about the solid waste that is collected but not removed in any part of the State, whether inside urban limits or in rural/forest regions).
